We’re excited to get back to DC this Saturday for a show at the Velvet Lounge with Ugly Purple Sweater and the NRIs. In the meantime, here’s a clip from our set at the WarHen Showcase earlier this month:
Great lineup of local bands this Saturday (3/2) at the Southern in Charlottesville. We’ll be joining forces with our labelmates Dwight Howard Johnson, Red Rattles and Sarah White & Josephine for a night of rock and roll not to be missed. Come see what WarHen is all about!
Looking forward to our first proper show of 2013, where we’ll be joined by new friends Ugly Purple Sweater (DC) and old friends Canary oh Canary (RVA). Be there!
Our new 7″, Skull Xbones, is out on Charlottesville’s own WarHen Records. On green and blue marble wax and in a limited run of only 150, get one of these puppies while you can! Available at Charlottesville record stores, online from WarHen, or in person at our shows. Both tracks are streaming over on our Music page.
Get on down to Blue Moon Diner this Saturday (11/3) for CLAWlection 2012! This is one of craziest annual events in town, and we’re pumped to be a part of it this time around. CLAW (Charlottesville Lady Arm Wrestlers) was recently featured on NPR, which you can check out here. We’ll be playing during intermission and after the matches, and we’ve got some fun new stuff in the bag for you guys so come party!
We’re looking forward to opening for Cate Le Bon at the Southern on 9/24. She’s an impressive songwriter from Wales who was last in town opening for St. Vincent. Her newest album, Cyrk, has drawn comparisons to everyone from Syd Barret and Nico to Stereolab and Stephen Malkmus (all of those people are pretty good). Check her out at catelebon.com; she’s legit!! –rd
We’ve got a big day coming up next week, on Saturday 9/1. First we’ll be playing the UVA Welcome Week show, presented by WTJU, at the UVA Amphitheater along with the Invisible Hand and Dwight Howard Johnson. Those festivities commence around 5pm. Then we’ll shift gears over to Random Row Books for another power-bill of great local bands. We kick things off early, around 8:30pm, and will be followed by Borrowed Beams of Light, Corsair, and Ostinato. It’s a release party …
Hello, internet. We’ve put together a little Spotfify playlist of jams that aren’t our jams, but are “our jams”. Click here to check it out! –rd
Earlier this month we had the privilege of spending some time with Bill Kopp, an Asheville, NC-based rock writer who happens to be the man. Check out his review of our 7/7 show at the Emerald Lounge over on his blog, Musoscribe. We also just released a new music video for our song “Reprise” off last year’s Dream Travel. Check out the exclusive premier over at RVAmag! The video comes courtesy of our friend William Pence, who adds us …
